Frequently Asked Questions

The Storage Room is dedicated to providing the best customer service. As our experience is vital to us as we help you, we have answered some frequently asked questions below about self-storage. If your questions are not answered here, please call us and our friendly staff will be happy to answer your questions.

New Customers

We accept most methods of payment, including cash, personal cheques, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, debit, and ACH. For your convenience, you may choose to have your credit card or bank account automatically charged each month. We also offer the convenience of online payments.

Your facility manager may be able to assist you in that transition. If the storage unit that you prefer is available at our facility, then you are able to move into the new unit.

Typically, you can move in fairly quickly if we have units available. This can be as quickly as the same day or the next day.

Your rental includes up to $5,000 of content insurance. However, if you require more insurance, we can redirect you to our preferred insurance provider. For more information, please speak with our helpful staff who are happy to work with you.

One of the following forms of government issued identification is acceptable:

  • Provincial Photo Identification Card
  • Current Driver’s License with Photo
  • Passport
  • Status Card.

The Storage Room offers a wide variety of storage units. Our unit sizes range from 5×5 to 10×20. Determining the storage size you need is important and our professional and helpful staff are happy to work with you to find the right fit.

Yes. The Storage Room offers a wide variety of moving supplies and packaging available for purchase at the office. These items includes but not limited to boxes, packing tape, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, shrink wrap, and furniture (soft, bed, etc) covers.

For your safety, our units require cylinder locks. These are the most break resistant locks on the market. They can be purchased at our location.

Building & Storage Units

Indoor units are covered, heated and located inside the facility. Our outdoor units are also covered and heated but have drive-up access.

We have top of the line 4MP IP security cameras and PTI gate access systems at our facilities. We have state of the art high-definition camera systems with motion capture and control with strategic coverage throughout the facility and 24/7 motion recording. Our computerized gate entry system with keypad allows you to safely pull up to the keypad and enter your code to proceed to your storage unit.

Each of our units are individually alarmed. You will choose a code that will allow you to enter the storage facility gate and will disarm your unit and re-arm your unit each time you come and go.

You can store almost anything at The Storage Room as long as it’s non perishable, non combustible and not illegal. The following are prohibited: gas, foods, dangerous chemicals, explosive materials (propane, paint, etc) or live animals. If you’re wondering whether we can store what you have – ask us!

Contract & Payment

The minimum rental period is 4 weeks.

Yes, you will be required to sign a contract prior to being assigned an unit.

We will charge your account with a late payment fee. If a payment is still not paid after 10 days, an additional late payment fee will be issued to your account until the payment(s) have been resolved.

Yes, there is a “Notice to Vacate” schedule in our rental agreement, which must be provided to our facility manager prior to moving out.

Yes, you can store your motorcycle inside our heated drive-up units. Coming Soon we will offer many ways to store your car, truck, RV or boat in our safe and secure location.

The Storage Room offers units range in various sizes from 5×5′ to 10×20′. The height of the storage units are about 8 feet. If you require further assistance, please feel free to call us and one of our experts will be happy to assist you.

You do not need to inform us on how long you will be renting the unit for. However, it is always beneficial to let our staff know so we can give you the best offer for your needs.

Our hours of operation are: Monday – Friday: 9am – 6pm, Saturday & Sunday: 9am – 5pm with Gate Access 6am – 10pm, 7 days a week. If you need access outside of business hours, you can make special arrangements. The Storage Room staff pride ourselves on customer service and are happy to accomodate you.

You may access your belongings during our gate hours from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week.

Due to liability reasons, our staff are not able to help lift or move any of your belongings.

No, The Storage Room does not hold a key to any storage units. You are required to hold the key to the lock. However, if requested with written authorization, The Storage Room will hold a key for customers to pass on to specific individuals to access their unit.
