  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We accept most methods of payment, including cash, personal cheques, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, debit, and ACH. For your convenience, you may choose to have your credit card or bank account automatically charged each month. We also offer the convenience of online payments.
  • Can I move into a different storage unit after signing a contract?

    Your facility manager may be able to assist you in that transition. If the storage unit that you prefer is available at our facility, then you are able to move into the new unit.
  • How much notice do I need to give you before I move my belongings into a storage unit?

    Typically, you can move in fairly quickly if we have units available. This can be as quickly as the same day or the next day.
  • Do I need insurance for my stored items?

    Your rental includes up to $5,000 of content insurance. However, if you require more insurance, we can redirect you to our preferred insurance provider. For more information, please speak with our helpful staff who are happy to work with you.
  • What kind of documentation do you require to rent a storage unit?

    One of the following forms of government issued identification is acceptable:
    • Provincial Photo Identification Card
    • Current Driver’s License with Photo
    • Passport
    • Status Card
  • What kind of lock do I need for my unit?

    For your safety, our units require cylinder locks. These are the most break resistant locks on the market. They can be purchased at our location.
  • What can I store? Is there anything I can’t store?

    You can store almost anything at The Storage Room as long as it’s non perishable, non combustible and not illegal. The following are prohibited: gas, foods, dangerous chemicals, explosive materials (propane, paint, etc) or live animals. If you’re wondering whether we can store what you have – ask us!
  • What is the minimal rental period?

    The minimum rental period is 4 weeks.
  • Do I have to sign a contract?

    Yes, you will be required to sign a contract prior to being assigned a unit.
  • What happens if I’m unable to pay on time?

    We acknowledge the existence of fees for late payment and NSF’s. Please review your lease or speak to a staff member for further information.
  • Do I have to tell you how long I’m going to need the storage unit for?

    You do not need to inform us on how long you will be renting the unit for. However, it is always beneficial to let our staff know so we can give you the best offer for your needs.
  • Is the staff able to help me move my belongings into the unit?

    Due to liability reasons, our staff are not able to help lift or move any of your belongings.
  • Does the storage room hold a key to my unit?

    No, The Storage Room does not hold a key to any storage units. You are required to hold the key to the lock. However, if requested with written authorization, The Storage Room will hold a key for customers to pass on to specific individuals to access their unit.
  • Do you provide Insurance for Vehicle Storage?

    We do not offer protection plans on vehicles. Customers must have their own insurance on vehicles while in storage and ensure they are in drivable and roadworthy condition.
